Le Pickle is a smash burger shop on Jarvis Street, at the De Waterkant edge of the CBD. The method is the whole argument: a ball of beef pressed hard onto a hot surface so the crust forms before the inside cooks, which is what produces the crisp edges the style is named for. The kitchen sources locally and makes what it can in-house rather than buying it in, fries included. It is a short walk from the Bree Street end of the gallery district, which makes it a practical dinner stop on a First Thursdays evening. Le Pickle takes part in First Thursdays, the CBD's late-opening evening on the first Thursday of every month.
